NCPD: Man, shot in wrist, tells police he fired back

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- North Charleston police responded to reports of a shootout on Gordon Street Sunday afternoon.According to police, officers were told the victim was on Leeds Avenue. When they located him, he told them he had been parked in a vehicle on Gordon when a man came up to him with a gun.The victim told police that he grabbed the gun when it went off striking him in his left hand. Police say that's when the suspect ran off, firing his gun at the car as he ran. The victim admitted to police that he fired back at the suspect. Investigators were told a short time later that a shooting victim was brought into MUSC and rushed into surgery due to a gunshot wound.{} Police believe that man is their suspect.

The possible suspect is identified in police reports as a 17-year-old black male named Terrence Kendall McNeil. The victim told police that 'T' and another man tried to rob him.

'T' is described as having light skinned and wearing a black shirt and black pants.
