Police meet shooting victim at hospital Christmas Eve

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Police say reports of shots fired in the area of Maverick Street in downtown Charleston eventually led them to the victim at Medical University Hospital on Christmas Eve.

The 31-year-old male sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the forearm.

According to police, officers quickly responded to the area near Homel Place around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday to reports of shots fired. Police say they found no victims or suspects.

About 30 minutes later, police say a man checked in to MUSC with a gunshot wound to the left forearm.
