'That BIG Book Sale' to be held this weekend at Omar Shrine Auditorium in Mount Pleasant
From Friday, October 13th through Sunday, October 15th, the Charleston Friends of the Library will once again host "That BIG Book Sale" to raise funds for the Charleston County Public Library system. The event will be held at the Omar Shrine Auditorium in Mount Pleasant.
The 36th annual event will feature over 60,000 unique books, DVDs, CDs, audio books, sheet music, and maps for sale. Prices start at just $.50! Checks, cash, and major credit cards are all accepted.
Here is this year's schedule:
• Friday: 9 am - 7 pm
• Saturday: 9 am - 5 pm
• Sunday: 10 am - 3 pm
o Items are half price on Sunday, with the exception of tote bags
Friends of the Library members will be able to shop on Thursday, October 12th from 5 pm - 8 pm. You can become a member of the Friends of the Library for $20 at the door. The organization is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to assisting the county library by providing annual funding for more than 6,000 community programs and classes.
The Charleston Friends of the Library are proud to announce that they have joined the Charleston County Public Library system in ending the distribution of single-use plastic bags. Instead of using donated plastic bags at their sales, the Friends will provide patrons with paper bags for a small fee of 25 cents. The Friends encourage the public to bring their own bags.
