The 51st Annual Carolighting Christmas Tree arrives at the State House
The Official Christmas Tree arrived at the State House this morning in preparation for the 51st Annual Governor’s Carolighting.
The event is a longtime family tradition, bringing South Carolinians together for caroling and the ceremonial tree lighting.
This year’s tree is 35-foot-tall white Fir, and for the sixth year came from a Christmas Tree farm in Maryland.
SCE&G will string over 13,000 LED lights upon the fir, and the garden clubs will hang over 900 ornaments in the coming days.
The tree will stay dark until Monday, Nov. 27 when the festivities begin.
The event starts at 7 and will be televised on SCETV.
