Drug agents arrest three for distributing heroin in Georgetown County

Agents with the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit, working with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgetown City Police Department, arrested three men after a drug investigation into heroin sales in the area.

Agents made purchases of heroin and crack cocaine from suspected dealers in the Andrews and Sampit sections of Georgetown County. They then obtained arrest warrants for Eric Cox of Andrews, Devanta Judson of Sampit and Lavar Cooper of Andrews/Sampit, arresting all three yesterday.

Cox was found to be in possession of a .357 magnum revolver loaded with hollow-point bullets as well as distribution level quantities of heroin, methamphetamine and MDMA and a quantity of U.S. currency.

Eric Cox has been charged with:

  • 2 counts distribution of heroin, second offense
  • 1 count of distribution of cocaine base, second offense
  • 3 counts of distribution of controlled substance within a half mile of a school or park
  • Possession with intent to distribute heroin second offense
  • Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine second offense
  • Possession with intent to distribute MDMA, second offense
  • Unlawful carry of a pistol

Lavar Cooper has been charged with:

  • 1 count of distribution of heroin, second offense
  • 1 count of distribution of a controlled substance within a half mile of a school or park

Devanta Judson has been charged with:

  • 1 count of distribution of heroin, first offense
  • 1 count of distribution of a controlled substance within a half mile of a school or park

All three individuals were transported to the Georgetown County Detention Center where they are being held pending bond.
