Boyfriend faces murder charge for Colleton domestic violence shooting, deputies say

A Colleton County man is charged with murder after investigators say he shot his partner in an alleged domestic violence incident.

Paul Dewitt Frazier III, 46, was arrested Tuesday, Oct. 15, following a reported accidental shooting incident on Bridge Road, near Cottageville.

The Sheriff's Office says deputies arrested Frazier after an investigation revealed the shooting did not appear to be accidental, but instead the result of a domestic dispute.

Frazier, who is described as the victim's boyfriend,remains in jail at the Colleton County Detention Center following a bond hearing Wednesday, Oct. 16.

Magistrates cannot set bond on murder charges. Frazier will remain in jail until he goes before a circuit judge within the next 30 days.
