Charleston man shot, killed after shooting someone else in home invasion Wednesday
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) —
A man has been shot to death after Charleston Police say he forced his way inside an apartment late Wednesday night, and first shot someone else.
The incident happened on N. Romney Street around 11 p.m. Wednesday, police say.
According to officers, a 24-year-old man from West Ashley showed up at the apartment, and eventually forced his way inside.
Once inside, police say the West Ashley man shot a 31-year-old North Charleston man, leading to a struggle.
Eventually, police say someone inside the apartment fired several more gunshots, striking the West Ashley man multiple times in his torso.
Both shooting victims were taken to MUSC, where the West Ashley man later died, according to police,
The Charleston County Coroner's Office has not released the deceased's name.
