Charleston Police need help identifying robbery suspect


Charleston Police responded to an attempted armed robbery this morning.

The incident happened at the Family Dollar on Meeting Street.

An employee of the store says, the suspect was armed with a handgun when he entered the store.

According to Charleston Police, the suspect demanded money from the safe, that’s when the employee told the robber it would take ten minutes to open it.

The employee says, the suspect then left the store without getting any money.

The suspect has been described as a black male, in his mid-20’s, 5 feet 5 inches tall with a medium build.

He was wearing a hoodie and had short dreads.
