Colleton County middle school student found with gun

WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCIV) — A student was found with a gun Thursday at Colleton County Middle School in Walterboro, school officials say.

A school administrator found the student with the gun while addressing a discipline matter, according to Colleton County School District officials.

Law enforcement was alerted to the situation, and the student will face criminal proescution, according to CCSD.

The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
