CPD looking for man who exposed himself, assaulted woman

The Charleston Police Department has requested the public's help in identifying a man who broke into a woman's home, exposed himself and assaulted her.

Police say the incident happened at around 4 p.m. Wednesday, August 9 at the Gardens at Ashley River Apartments off Carriage Lane.

The suspect is described as a white male, possibly with Spanish accent. It's believed he is 5-foot-10 and about 250 pounds. He has dirty blonde hair and was wearing a light gray or dull white t-shirt and dark green or blue shorts.

Investigators say the incident is possibly one of two involving the same suspect. They were informed about a similar incident between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Wednesday in which a man matching the suspect's description entered a woman's home and ran when he was confronted.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
