Ashley Ridge High School

Officials with Dorchester County School District 2 have confirmed Ashley Ridge High School was placed on a lockdown Tuesday for a nearby situation involving law enforcement.

DD2 spokesperson Patricia Raynor said the lockdown lasted for about 10 minutes.

Maj. Tony Phinney with the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office said the lockdown happened after a deputy stopped a car in front of the school on Highway 165. The car was reported stolen.

As of 11:30 a.m., one person was arrested in connection to the vehicle and another was being detained, Maj. Phinney said.
