Dorchester Sheriff's Office looking for woman that escaped caged patrol car

Jamie McCallister (DCSO)

The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office is looking for 24-year-old Jamie Lee McCallister after deputies say she escaped a caged patrol car in Summerville.

She was last seen wearing handcuffs, a black bra, a short skirt, one black boot, and one flip-flop, deputies say. Her current address is unknown, and deputies think she may be homeless.

Deputies say they received three separate calls reporting a suspicious person in the Greenhurst neighborhood on Margaret Drive.

McCallister was arrested after the third encounter for public disorderly contact and drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff's office.

While the arresting deputy was getting her bicycle, he says McCallister managed to pry open the rear window of the patrol car and escape.

Deputies say a search that included the use of bloodhounds was unsuccessful.

McCallister now has active arrest warrants for escape, public disorderly conduct, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies are investigating how she was able to open the window while handcuffed.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office at (843) 873-5111.
