Joseph Carlton Meek, 24, was arrested in Myrtle Beach Wednesday night, according to online booking records.

Meek was sentenced back in 2017 to more than two years in federal prison for his dealings with Emanuel AME Church gunman Dylann Roof.

Meek was sentenced March 21, 2017, to 27 months in prison on the charge of misprision, also known as concealing of a felony. He is currently out on probation.

Federal prosecutors accused him of lying to FBI investigators about his knowledge of Roof's plot, and encouraging other friends he told about it not to call authorities once they found out Roof had gone through with the plan.

He was arrested Wednesday at 8th Avenue North and North Ocean Boulevard and charged with loitering and operating a vehicle in an unsafe mechanical condition. A report detailing his arrest is not yet available.
