A Georgetown County man appeared Wednesday in federal court in Charleston on accusations of threatening government officials.

Marcus Strickland, 33, was arraigned Wednesday on threat charges stemming from a Dec. 13 federal grand jury indictment.

Federal prosecutors allege Strickland on three occasions in August and September 2017 made threats against the lives and well-being of FBI agents.

According to court documents, Strickland made phone calls claiming he would “kill ya'll in that building" ... "blow your brains out" ... "blow your head off” ... "break your jaw" ... “gun ya'll down" ... and "beat ya'll.” Strickland also reportedly said there "will be blood all over."

Strickland pleaded not guilty, and was taken back into custody to remain in jail. Prosecutors have requested that he undergo psychiatric treatment.
