Man arrested on murder charge related to dead body found under Huger Street overpass

Charleston Police have arrested a man on murder charges in connection to a body found earlier in November underneath the Interstate 26 overpass on Huger Street.

Police say Quinton Lee Capers, 25, of King Street, is being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center on murder charges.

Police believe he killed a man found underneath the overpass the morning of Nov. 2. A passerby found the body of an still unidentified middle-aged black man about 9 a.m. that morning. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the investigation into this homicide is ongoing. Anyone with information about this incident can call 843 743 7200 and ask for the on-duty Charleston Police detective.

Charleston Police have now identified the body found in theHuger St. overpass as Larry Thompson, 63, of Myrtle Beach.
