Man shot outside McClellanville store, deputies say

Charleston County deputies are investigating after a man showed up to the Roper Mount Pleasant emergency room with a gunshot wound late Thursday night.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office says it was notified of the shooting victim arriving at the hospital around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Deputies say the victim, who'd been shot in the leg, told them the shooting happened near a store along the 800 block of South Santee Road in McClellanville.

Investigators found several spent ammunition casings in the area. The shooting remains under investigation.
