Man shot outside North Charleston convenience store Friday morning

North Charleston Police are investigating a shooting that happened early Friday morning outside a convenience store.

According to police, officers were called to 3615 Dorchester Road in reference to a shooting around 6 a.m.

Upon arrival, police say they found a man in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to his right forearm.

The victim told police he was just standing near the front door talking with a woman, when suddenly someone started shooting from the road.

Police say a newer model Chevrolet Camaro was seen driving away in the direction of I-26 westbound.

The incident remains under investigation by North Charleston Police.
