Man wearing reflective vest arrested, facing drug trafficking charges

(WCIV) -- A North Charleston man is facing drug trafficking charges after police say they found him trespassing on an abandoned property.

Ray Anthony Williams Jr. of Seymore Avenue was taken into custody Sunday afternoon and charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and breach of peace.

An incident report provided by the North Charleston Police Department states Williams was one of three men standing in the garage of an abandoned home on Niagra Street. Police say Williams was wearing a reflective vest.

The report states an officer chased Williams after the three men ran from the area upon the arrival of police. The arresting officer states in the report that Williams attempted to break free. The report indicates the officer was preparing to use is taser when Williams became compliant.

Inside the garage, police say, was 10.2 grams of marijuana; 31.2 grams of cocaine base; 25 bags, each a gram, of cocaine and 17.2 additional grams of cocaine.
