Charleston Police have arrested a man for murder in connection to a January shooting that claimed a local barber's life.

Teddy M. Gadsden, 25, of Charleston, is accused of shooting and killing 48-year-old Dominique Sheppard.

Police say Sheppard, a barber in North Charleston, was found shot lying outside a vehicle on the I-26 on-ramp from Meeting Street in Charleston late the night of Jan. 30, 2018.

Sheppard died the following day from his wounds at MUSC, according to police.

Charleston Police say they and U.S. Marshals arrested Gadsden on Thursday, March 15, on King Street in Charleston.

Police say the investigation into Sheppard's shooting is ongoing.

Gadsden is being held in the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing Friday afternoon.
