Police: North Charleston man uploaded child pornography using Facebook page

North Charleston police arrested a 44-year-old man for three counts of child pornography after authorities say he uploaded files through his Facebook page that showed underage females engaging in sexual acts and appearing nude.

David Daniel Croft, Jr., of 2743 Ranger Drive in North Charleston, was arrested for third degree sexual exploitation of a minor, three counts.

An affidavit states he uploaded one video and two photos on January 27, 2018.

Authorities were tipped off through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children cyber tip line, the affidavit states.

"A search warrant was prepared and sent to Facebook on July 23, 2018 to confirm this was the defendant's page. The search warrant was answered on August 9, 2018 and it was confirmed," the affidavit states.

During his arrest on Wednesday, Aug. 21, , officers also found Croft to be in possession of illegal pills—three hydrocodone tablets and three morphine table. The pills were found in a bottle in his front pants pocket, police say.

Croft did not have a prescription for the pills and was additionally charged with unlawful possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.

He was released on Aug. 22 on a $110,000 bond.
