North Charleston woman charged with felony DUI in fatal Hanahan crash
HANAHAN, S.C. (WCIV) —
A North Charleston woman faces felony DUI charges after Hanahan police say she collided with a motorcycle rider Saturday night, killing him.
Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury says 22-year-old Bryon Bouton Leatherwood of Hanahan was riding his motorcycle on Railroad Avenue around 7 p.m. when he collided with another vehicle.
Leatherwood was wearing a helmet, Salisbury said.
Police say Leatherwood was ejected and died at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, identified by police as Lauren Ann Nolen, was arrested and charged with felony DUI.
The accident is being investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner's Office and the Hanahan Police Department assisted by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
