2 killed in fatal I-526 wrong-way crash in Mount Pleasant identified

The Charleston County Coroner's Office has identified 41-year-old Cristina Rodriguez and and 39-year-old Christopher Thomas as the two people killed in a head-on collision on I-526 East on November 15.

Mount Pleasant Police says officers responded around 12:41 a.m. to the scene, and after preliminary investigation determined Rodriguez's Chevy Impala was hit Thomas' red Nissan Altima.

Officers say Thomas was driving the wrong direction.

Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene. Thomas was transported to the hospital, and died on Monday.
