Last week, ABC News 4 partnered with Crunch Fitness to provide meals for the community with a cereal drive benefitting Lowcountry Food Bank.

The "Food 4 Families" cereal drive was held on Thursday, June 28 at the Harris Teeter grocery store on Long Point Road in Mt. Pleasant.

Customers were encouraged to purchase a box of cereal or non-perishable items to donate to families in need.

Throughout the day, ABC News 4 employees took shifts volunteering to collect the items and greet grocery store customers.

In addition to cereal boxes, monetary donations were also collected.

ABC News 4 set a goal to raise enough cash donations to provide 500 meals, and doubled that, collecting enough to provide 1,032 meals.

The goal was to collect 600 pounds of cereal. The donation drive also exceeded that, collecting 951 pounds of cereal.

All together, the donation drive collected enough to provide 2,171 meals for the community.

Thank you to everyone who donated to the cause and made a difference in the community.
