Ambulance medic struck and killed Wednesday morning identified by coroner
BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) —
A medic with a private ambulance service was struck and killed Wednesday morning, according to Berkeley County Coroner, Bill Salisbury.
Christopher M. Gore, 36, of Moncks Corner was was killed after he got out of his vehicle on Sheep Island Road to verify a street address, Salisbury said. He was in the auto lane of traffic.
The death has been ruled accidental and was investigated by the Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Gore was struck by a car and pronounced dead on the scene, Salisbury said.
Friends and colleagues created a graphic on social media honoring Gore, referring to him as Mark. According to the post, Gore previously worked at St. Andrews Fire Department and volunteered at Pine Ridge Forest Rescue.
