Baptist Hill Middle High School student, Ajani Brooks received the Legion of Valor Bronze Cross for Achievement this month from the United States Department of the Army.

Brooks is a senior at BHMHS and is the only JROTC cadet in the Charleston County School District (CCSD) to receive this honor this year.

Brooks was presented the award on Thursday, February 1 where she was promoted to the rank of Cadet Lieutenant Colonel.

Brooks is one of 35 out of 314,000 worldwide JROTC cadets to receive this honor in 2018 and only one of two in South Carolina.

“Her past seven semesters have been nearly flawless with a 4.5 GPA. She is a model student and Cadet who frequently reaches out to faculty for greater challenges in order to improve herself,” said Principal Brown.

Brooks is dually-enrolled at Trident Technical College. She will have 18 credit hours to apply once she graduates this Spring and applies for college.
