Berkeley Co. school nurses honored by state health dept.
BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) —
South Carolina health officials have honored two members of the Berkeley County School District school nursing staff for their commitment to students and excellent job performance.
The S.C. Dept. of Health and Environmental Control last week named BCSD Nursing Services Coordinator Cami Tidwell its South Carolina School RN Administrator of the Year.
BCSD nurse Karen VanCleve was also recognized as the South Carolina School Health LPN of the Year.
“I was very shocked. It was very humbling,” Tidwell said of the awards.
“It’s such an honor to have these awards," VanCleve said. "I have worked so hard in my role, and my nurses have worked so hard. Our department has come a long way. This is a reflection of the team.”
VanCleve works as a school nurse at Devon Forest Elementary and Berkeley High.
