Charleston County Sheriff’s Office has announced the reinstatement of an officer who had been arrested by North Charleston Police for a domestic violence charge.

Deputy Preston Capers has completed his year-long probation after being charged in April 2017.

Capers was accused of pressing his wife into a wall, causing it to depress. According to North Charleston Police, the incident also happened in front of a child.

The charge was dropped at his wife’s request.

Capers was ordered to remain on leave for roughly three weeks in 2017.

He returned to work in May of 2017 as long as he completed a yearlong employee probation and attended anger management counseling.
