Charleston ranks among most unsafe U.S. cities

Charleston ranks 140 out of 182 for safest cities in the U.S., according to a WalletHub survey.

The personal finance website used three categories to come up with the rankings: home and community security, natural disaster risk and financial safety.

Two out of three of Charleston's scores were well over 100: 137, 165 and 63 respectively.

The only other city in South Carolina on the list is Columbia. Columbia ranked 95.

Columbia, Maryland was ranked as the safest city.

St. Louis, Missouri was ranked as the most dangerous.
