Child chasing ball has arm run over by box truck in North Charleston, police say

North Charleston Police say a child chasing a ball was run over by a box truck Sunday afternoon.

The child did not suffer serious injuries, police say.

The incident happened shortly before 2:30 p.m. in a parking lot off Fairwind Drive, according to officials.

Police say, the driver of the box truck was backing slowly in the parking lot, when a ball went under the truck. The child went to get the ball from under the truck, and the truck ran over the boy's arm.

The boy was taken to MUSC, but police say it's not believed the child suffered any broken bones.

Police have classified this as an accident, and say the driver of the box truck was not cited or charged.
