Child struck by car on Rifle Range Road after run into oncoming traffic, police say
Officials with the Mount Pleasant Police Department say a 9-year-old struck by a car on Rifle Range Road Thursday morning is not believed to have life-threatening injuries.
Inspector Chip Googe said officers responded to the incident at around 6:45 a.m. in the area of Rifle Range Road and Omni Boulevard.
"The preliminary investigation revealed that a 9-year-old child ran across Rifle Range Rd. and into the path of an oncoming car," Googe said in a statement.
The child was taken to a local hospital. Specifics on the child's condition are unknown.
Googe said the incident remains under investigation.
