Coast Bar and Grill to partially reopen Wednesday after roof collapse

The record rainfall in Charleston has been blamed for a roof collapse at downtown restaurant Coast Bar and Grill on John Street that occurred on June 8.

There were no injuries reported, the only staff that was in the building was some cooking staff in the kitchen.

The establishment has been closed ever since.

Holy City Hospitality, which operates the restaurant, states that the Coast Bar and Grill bar and patio will re-open Wednesday, June 13, at 5:30 p.m.

Food will be available for patrons on the patio and the community dining area at the bar for walk-in dinner service.

"The main dining room on the opposing side of the building will remain closed while repairs are completed. Stay tuned as we will continue to send updates regarding the timeline of repairs and full reopening in the coming days," states Kinsey Rogers, marketing manager with Holy City Hospitality.
