
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Charleston County Chief Deputy CoronerBrittney Martin on Tuesday identified the man killed in a shooting in North Charleston early Monday morning as 46-year-old Ray Brown.
According to the North Charleston Police Department, officers responded to N. Atlantic Avenue near Leland Street at around 12:30 a.m. in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival, they found Brown suffering from a gunshot wound at the scene, where he was pronounced dead, officials say.
An 18-year-old suspect was detained at the scene. Police say preliminary evidence is pointing toward a justified shooting; however, detectives and the Charleston County Coroner's Office are continuing their investigations.
