The Charleston County Coroner's Office on Tuesday identified the 18-year-old man killed in a shooting in North Charleston on Sunday.

The victim was identified by coroner Bobbi Jo O'Neal as Kiarstaine Fields of the North Charleston area.

Late Sunday afternoon, officers responded to the area of Arbutus Avenue and Spruill Avenue for a shooting, where they found Fields suffering from a gunshot wound, police say. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:23 p.m.

A few hours later, officers arrested a 16-year-old girl in connection toFields' murder. The suspect, who has not been identified due to her age, is facing charges ofmurder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

She is being held at theCharleston County Juvenile Detention Center.
