Honda mangled, Cross County Road shut down after crash in North Charleston

Sedan pinned under semi-truck after early morning crash (WCIV)

Cross County Road in North Charleston was closed early Tuesday morning after a crash involving a semi-truck.

Officers closed both lanes of Cross County Road, from Brookdale Boulevard to Bryhawke Circle, just before 6:00 a.m., according to a police spokesperson.

The truck appears to have collided with a Honda crosstour. The car is heavily damaged and appeared to be pinned underneath the truck.

Cross County Road is frequently used by drivers during the morning commute. It connects Ashley Phosphate Road and Dorchester Road. Drivers were seen waiting or turning around as of 7:00 a.m.

It's unclear if anyone was injured in the crash.
