Deputies seize $46,000 in drugs, over $10,000 cash from Berkeley County home

Berkeley County agents found $46,000 in drugs inside a home in Cross and more than $10,000 in cash on Friday.

Yesterday, agents with the Berkeley County Narcotics Unit and deputies with the Berkeley County K-9 Unit, the CAT Team, and the Criminal Investigations Division executed a legal search warrant in the Cross area of Berkeley County.

The department states the search warrant was in reference to a narcotics investigation that started after several citizens made complaints about narcotics distribution in the area.

While searching the residence deputies were able to locate and seize multiple drugs, thanks to assistance from K-9 Axel.

The items seized include:

  • 285 grams cocaine
  • 155 grams cocaine base
  • 56 hydrocodone
  • Cash amounting to $10,335
  • Three vehicles

The total value of the seized drugs is approximately $46,000, according to the department.

Charisse Latanya Davis, 44, and Jermel Jermaine Myers, 38, were arrested in connection with the drugs seized, according to the department.

The department adds that when deputies arrived to the residence, Davis attempted to bail out of the back door.

Davis is being charged with:

  • Distribution of a cocaine base (x2)
  • Trafficking cocaine base
  • Trafficking cocaine
  • Possession with the Intent to distribute a schedule II controlled substance.

Myers is charged with:

  • Trafficking cocaine base
  • Trafficking cocaine
  • Possession with intent to distribute a schedule II controlled substance.
