Drivers fueling up more amid Wando Bridge traffic woes
Since the Wando Bridge closure last week, avoiding traffic has been inevitable.
Although drivers have been standing still in traffic, many are noticing they are burning more gas than usual.
"I'm having to fill up at least once a week now, verses every two weeks," says driver Mary Murdough.
AAA says gas prices are up 12 cents a gallon in the past month.
And prices are expected to increase with Memorial Day weekend approaching.
Driver Daneil Szarka feels although gas prices are on the rise, things could be worse.
"They could always be lower of course, that's what everyone would want, but at the same time cars are pretty efficient nowadays so it's better than what it probably would have been 20 years ago."
