Four Charleston County schools put on lockdown after threat from a student


Four Charleston County schools were put on a precautionary lockdown Tuesday afternoon after student at one of the schools made a threat and then left campus, according to the Charleston County School District.

Officials declined to state which school the student attends, only that the school and surrounding schools in North Charleston were put on lockdown.

The following schools were placed on precautionary lockdown at 1:20 p.m. for approximately one hour:

  • Liberty Hill Academy
  • Charleston County School of the Arts
  • North Charleston Creative Arts Elementary School
  • Academic Magnet High School

North Charleston Police is still investigating.
