4 Berkeley County schools placed on lockdown

Berkeley County School District officials say four school campuses were on lockdown Thursday morning.

Goose Creek High, Howe Hall AIMS, Sedgefield Middle and Mt. Holly Elementary all were placed on precautionary lockdown "to ensure student safety," the district said.

The lockdowns have since been lifted, BCSD officials say.

Law enforcement are conducting an investigation in the area, school district officials say.

Berkeley County spokesperson Carli Drayton would not say why law enforcement was in the area when asked Thursday morning.
