Dennis Turner, Hanahan’s police chief, says a murder in this area is unheard of.

“This is an older part of Hanahan, very quiet. We have the occasional car break ins or disturbance calls, but this is just very unusual for that area” Dennis says.

One neighbor agrees.

“We are all neighbors and we get along great. We look out for each other and we were just shocked this morning to hear about this incident,” the neighbor, who did not wish to be identified, states.

Another neighbor, who also wanted to remain anonymous, says she thinks that drug dealers may be living nearby.

Police still believe that this was an isolated inciden, and are asking for help.

If anyone along Belvedere Dr. has any surveillance video from their homes or has heard anything is asked to call the Hanahan police department at 843-747-5711 or Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
