Emergency crews were called around midnight to Old State Road in Holly Hill located in Orangeburg County.

At daybreak, emergency crews responded to the Super 10 building, a variety store. Thick smoke and intense flames could be seen from several nearby neighborhoods.

The owner said she lost all the store’s merchandise. On the second floor was a fully restored 1926 Model T, which was also destroyed by the fire.

The Super 10 building used to house a Ford Dealership decades ago. Another piece of Holly Hill history ruined.

Jerry Hannah, owner of Goldstein’s of Holly Hill, said he’s going to miss his building here. “We just have to think what we’re going to do next.”

Hannah said he wasn’t sure if he could rebuild what he lost. “What do you do when what you see your investment here is gone? And you’re thinking about not only your business but the other businesses, too? And the persons who are employed are no longer employed.”

The owner of Super 10 has insurance, but she isn’t sure if it will be worth rebuilding.

Fire investigators and SLED agents are looking for clues while business owners believe divine intervention will help their community rebuild what was torched in a tragedy.

“We’re praying and people are praying for us, and praying for the city of Holly Hill,” Hannah said.
