Inaugural 5K races for brain cancer research

5K races for brain cancer research

A first of its kind run in the Lowcountry is just a little more than a week away.

It's the inaugural Charleston Head For The Cure 5K Run and Walk.

The February 25th event will be held at Palmetto Islands County Park in Mount Pleasant.

Money raised will go to brain cancer research and MUSC.

It's a cause that's personal for the Adams family. Erica was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor back in 2015.

"I went into radiation and chemotherapy," she said. "I finished my chemotherapy in October and God is good."

Millions of dollars has been raised through this effort.

To sign up, it's 35 dollars if you register now, 40 dollars for late registration.

You can register at Fleet Feet in Mount Pleasant or online at
