Kids' ponchos recalled for strangulation hazard

Kids' ponchos recalled for strangulation hazard (CPSC)

A drawstring kids' rain poncho sold on Amazon has been recalled due to possibly strangulation, the Consumer Product Safety Commission reports.

The recall was issued Friday and made effective immediately. The CPSC posting states drawstrings on the JW Crawford ponchos can become entangled or caught in playground slides, hand rails, school bus doors or other moving objects.

In addition to being sold on Amazon, the CPSC reports the ponchos were wold on from May 2016 through July 2016 for about $12 for a 6-pack and $17 for a 12-pack.

The recall on the ponchos was one of at least five big recalls issued this week by the CPSC. Among those was a recall Thursday on fire extinguishers.
