Man arrested for murder after bones found in rural Charleston County

A man is in jail facing a murder charge related to an investigation of human remains found in rural Charleston County.

Patrick L. Gregory, 28, is in jail at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center, charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, following his arrest by the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.

Gregory's arrest is related to the discovery of human bones on March 15 behind a residence along the 6900 block of Parkers Ferry Road in the Adams Run community.

According to the sheriff's office, Gregory shot the as yet unidentified victim, then dumped and burned the victim's body at that location. Patrick's apparent girlfriend, Sarah S. Kelley, was an accessory after the fact to the crime, the sheriff's office says.

Both Gregory and Kelley were arrested Thursday night in Berkeley County, according to the CCSO. The two remain in jail awaiting a bond hearing.
