Man arrested outside MUSC after police chase in car and on foot

Jovon Tamar Fordham, 21, was arrested Thursday in downtown Charleston after a brief police chase in car and on foot.

The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office states that deputies tried to stop an erratic driver on James Island.

"He fled towards downtown Charleston and bailed out on Jonathan Lucas Street," the CCSO states. "After brief foot chase, deputies apprehended him."

This was the area near the Medical University of South Carolina.

The suspect was charged for failure to stop for blue lights at the scene.
