Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade Route


Charleston, SC (WCIV) -- Charleston will honor the late Martin Luther King, Jr. with its annual downtown parade. The parade will be held this Monday.

The parade begins at the coroner of Sumter at President; proceeds east on Sumter to King; turns south onto King ; proceeds south to Calhoun Street; turns east onto Calhoun Street and proceeds to Anson Street where it will disband. The parade is expected to end around 12:30 p.m.

Charleston police say there won't be any street closures. Side streets will reopen after parade participants pass by. But drivers should know, that if you park along the route you will not be able to leave until after the procession has cleared.
