Former North Charleston Police Dept. officer Michael Slager is being held in the same low-security federal prison as disgraced former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle.

Slager was released from the Al Cannon Detention Center in Charleston County on Feb. 2, and has now begun his 20-year prison sentence in SCI Englewood in Littleton, Colorado. The prison's inmate population is 1,115.

Slager pled guilty in May 2017 to federal civil rights charges for shooting and killing unarmed black man Walter Scott in April 2015.

According to the Bureau of Prisons website, Slager’s release date from prison is January 2034.

Along with Slager and Fogle, the prison also houses corrupt former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich, who was impeached in 2009 and sentenced to prison for conspiring to sell an appointment to President Barack Obama's vacant U.S. Senate seat.

Fogle was sentenced in 2015 to 188 months in prison for conspiracy to receive child pornography and traveling to have sex with a minor.
