Mount Pleasant Christmas Light Parade marches on!
Many were excited when the Town of Mount Pleasant announced around noon Sunday that the show would go on!
For most of the day, chairs were laid on the sidewalk along West Coleman Blvd., left by parade-goers marking their spots for the light show.
Mount Pleasant Mayor Will Haynie says the decision to go on with the parade came after taking a closer look at the weather.
“If you look at the radar, you can see this system is set to move out before parade time, which is 5:30 p.m., and the town is speaking with weather experts, not just town employees making that call. So the experts have told us it looks good."
Mayor Haynie says 100 float units were scheduled to be in the parade, but some chose to back out because of the weather.
Although it rained most of the day, a crowd of people came out to share the holiday cheer, and enjoy the most wonderful time of the year!
