Three people rescued after boat overturns in Berkeley County July 3

A late-night water rescue saved three people near the Hatchery Boat landing in Berkeley County after a boat overturned into the water.

The call came in at 11:04 p.m. on July 3, according to the Moncks Corner Rural Fire Department.

Several agencies worked together to rescue the three boaters from the water, including volunteers, according to the fire department.

The Moncks Corner Rural Fire Department, Cross Fire Department, Lake Moultrie Fire Department all responded as well as the Berkeely County Sheriff's Office which deployed air support to locate the overturned boat.

"All three patients were successfully retrieved from the water," states the Moncks Corner Rural Fire Department. "This goes to show the strength in both the volunteer fire departments in Berkeley County and close working relationship with the men and women of the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office."
