The Dorchester County Coroner's Office has identified the victim of a deadly shooting that occurred late Monday night, March 23, in a townhome community near Ashley Phosphate Road.

Frank Darrell Grant, 51, of North Charleston, was pronounced dead at the scene following the shooting, Dorchester County Coroner Paul Brouthers said. Grant is scheduled to undergo an autopsy on Thursday, March 26.

Grant was found shot to death a few minutes before 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday at a home along the 4000 block of Cedars Parkway. The address is in The Cedars townhomes community, adjacent to the Windsor Hill Plantation neighborhood just outside North Charleston.

The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation into the shooting. Detectives were actively looking for suspects, and were trying to obtain search warrants as of early Tuesday morning.
