One of the Lowcountry's favorite pub grub spots is expanding again.

A spokesperson for owners of the Tattooed Moose formally announced Wednesday plans to open a third restaurant, this one going in West Ashley.

The new restaurant will be in the Citadel Mall, occupying the former King Street Grille space, according to Megan Ladd, marketing director for the Tattooed Moose and Voodoo Tiki Bar.

Famous for its Mike's Duck Club sandwich, house-made pickles and duck-fat fries, the original Tattooed Moose on Morrison Drive in Charleston gained national fame to bolster its already stellar local reputation when it was featured on the Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins & Dives in 2012.

According to Eater Charleston, owners Jen and Mike Kulick partnered in 2014 with Jason Houser of Meathouse Butcher Shop to open a second, larger location in Johns Island on Maybank Highway.

The new restaurant in West Ashley is expected to open in May or June, Ladd said Wednesday.
